Amazing Beachfront home with 4 large bedrooms, 4.5 baths and lots of extras that will make you want to never leave! Mar Tortuga is a wonderful custom home with space to graciously enjoy time with your family amid comfortable furnishings and luxury touches.

It is a cliche but true, pictures don't do it justice. You really do have to see it to believe it. We drove by Mar Tortuga for several years and didn't really give it a second look but the moment we walked inside, our jaws dropped! Actually we only got as far as the covered area underneath with the mural and swings and the best sea oats providing a magical pathway to the beach and we knew--this is a really special place.

Mar Tortuga means Sea Turtle--most years Sea Turtles nest in the dunes in front of the house. If you come in October, you just might see their first journey to the sea.

There is a Large Main Floor Open Living Area with 2 Seating Areas; a Dining Table for 10, plus a Breakfast Bar and a Game Table for more Dining Space; a Beautifully Stocked Kitchen, plus a Wet Bar, Undercounter Ice Maker, and Large Pantry; and Spacious Beachfront Porches, both covered and open to the sun. Relax on the Lounge Chairs with a cool beverage or step right down to the beach.

There is also an Oversized Main Floor King Master complete with a chaise, a futon (for families with small children this is wonderful), and a Deluxe Bath featuring a Separate Shower, Jacuzzi Tub, Double Vanities, Dressing Table and lovely custom tile work. The smaller of the 2 Laundries is on this floor.

The Top Floor features a wonderful OWNER'S SUITE with a large King Bedroom with Private Beachfront Porch; a Desk area with Computer & a Wet Bar with Undercounter Refrigerator; a Huge Master Bath with Separate Tub and Shower, Two Vanities and beautiful finishes. There are 2 More Large Bedrooms: A Queen Bedroom, and a Bedroom with a Queen Bed plus a Daybed and Trundle, each with a Private Bath and a TV. The Very Large primary Laundry Room is on this level.

Great porches offer Amazing Views of Gulf Shores Sugar White Sand Beaches. This Quiet Area of West Beach has a single row of beachfront homes, plus a single row of homes on Little Lagoon. It is a wonderful, quiet area of the beach but it is less than 4.5 miles from the heart of Gulf Shores.

A wonderful vacation. The house was clean when we arrived. All rooms were spacious. There was a lot of storage area and large pantry. The boardwalk was a big plus. The beds were comfortable. Location was good. Close to restaurants and activities but secluded enough where the beach was not crowded where we were. We would love to stay there again.

We had a fabulous family vacation in Mar Tortuga home! The home was absolutely top notch! The home looks great in the pictures but much nicer in person. It was as big enough for our extended family and everyone had privacy when they needed it. It was clean and comfortable. The management company was most accommodating with a small maintenance issue and fixed within 24 hours of notification. The only con would be the pots and pans weren’t very nice, and the Appliances are showing some wear and tear, however I would definitely like this again and it did not take away from our wonderful family vacation! This house provides great memories and a beautiful vacation. We’re having a family meeting to plan a vacation next year in the same house if we can get it.

House was awesome, just as dis advertised. Great location, love the walkout bridge to the beach and the 2 master suites. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and the 10 seat dinning room table allowed us to all eat together. Geoff and Susan at Gulf shores vacations have excellent communication.

love love love - Second time staying here, the Gulf never lets us down. The house was perfect. What is missing are better pans. When we visit we cook there. My chef of a husband was once again disappointed with the cooking pans. Small detail. We will see you again in 2021!!!

Our whole family vacations together on the Gulf every summer and we have rented condominiums and houses. Mar Tortuga is positively the winner!! The rooms are spacious and everything is provided down to the last detail. My husband and I stayed in the downstairs master suite (love that shower!)and our kids and grandkids were all upstairs occupying master suite with private balcony and the other two bedrooms. We plan to return next summer for another perfect vacation experience. Geoff and Susan are the best and do everything they can to make Mar Tortuga not just a beach house but a beach home.

This house is fantastic! The beds are comfy, the floor plan is so roomy for everyone to spread out during the evening. You can't beat this beautiful sugar sand, this area of the beach was not crowded at all during spring break. We will definitely be back! The management company was immediately responsive and helpful.

The house design was well thought out, the location was wonderful. The house was pretty clean overall and well furnished. Our only real complaint was the single queen room. My husband and I took that room. The mattress is super soft and not supportive, so by the end of the week both of our backs were killing us. Of the 3 adult couples staying, we were the youngest and in the best health/physical shape.
Everyone else said their beds were fine. This would be the only factor that would keep us from coming back because we know we would need to take that room again. My husband said he couldn’t sleep on that mattress one more night.
Everyone loved the house, especially the dock leading out to the beach over the dunes and deep sand. We also all appreciated that There was plenty of parking for our three vehicles out of the sun. The Property management team was amazing. They handled our two minor issues very fast. We would all recommend this beach house to friends.

Mar Tortuga is a wonderful house. My family, which includes children, their spouses, and grandchildren enjoy spending our Thanksgivings together at the beach. With such a large group we need a house with a layout that can accommodate the needs of adults with small children as well as teens and tweens who like to spend their time on the beach. We've spent several of our holidays in Mar Tortuga and it's always terrific. The layout is perfect for us and the location right on the beach makes access easy. Needless to say, the view is fantastic. The house is well maintained and the rare issues that arose are promptly responded to. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

Our family spent the week at Mar Tortuga. In the past I have read great reviews about properties and am disappointed when I get there. Not this time! The house is fabulous, very clean and well maintained. I really liked the rental company. They emailed me several times during the week and gave me a phone number to call if any problems. I would stay here every time I can. Love it!

The Mar Tortuga was a dream house for us in more ways than one. The home is palatal in size, yet decorated very comfortably in an upscale way. We had everything we needed in the house from linens, to dishwasher liquid, and even a grill with charcoal. The location of this house is excellent, and the two big decks with ample seating allowed us to watch the waves roll in without moving from the house. But if we wanted to get in the water (and who doesn't?), all we had to do was walk out the sliding glass door and walk out onto the sand. We only had a to drive a few miles to get to the restaurants and shops, and we liked that we were located out far enough to not be in the midst of everything. My elderly mother-in-law loved her downstairs master, while my SIL had one of the front upstairs bedrooms with her own bathroom. My husband and I shared the massive upstairs master with its enormous bathroom, featuring a huge tiled walk in shower and humongous garden tub. The Wi-Fi was great and easy to access. We easily had 8 devices using it. The property management team was highly professional and it was actually a pleasure to deal with them. We had to leave town in a rush because our city was experiencing unprecedented flooding (August 14 floods in South Louisiana) and I called ahead and they allowed us to get into the property a few hours later. When we asked to extend our stay, they responded quickly in the affirmative and I suspect they may have even given us a lower rate because of the nature of our request. :-) If it's possible to be in love with a beach house and its property management, we are those people! I worked with Geoff the whole time and he was impeccably polite and responsive. We will be staying here again.

Our family, 8 adults, 1 two year old and our Golden Retriever enjoyed our week stay in Gulf Shores immensely. The home, Mar Tortuga, was well suited for our family. The house was clean and well appointed. The beds comfortable and the living area spacious. The beach access was convenient and due to the location, uncrowded. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular.

There is no way to explain all of the amazing things this rental has going for it. Location is a very quiet area with limited traffic and the beach front will keep you outside all day! Even if there is inclement weather you still have a large play area underneath the house to enjoy. Rooms are grade A+ amazing and SO MUCH ROOM! The pictures do not do this place justice! You will not be disappointed and we had three families and everyone had their own space to unwind. Great experience!

This was our 6/7? Christmas at Mar Tortuga. It is our annual family trip. The management had a tree decorated for us as well as a beautiful table decoration set up. We needed this because a member of our family passed away this year and his presence was painfully missed - he loved all the Christmases we spent together here at this house. We appreciated the management bringing the spirit of the season to us as we shared our family memories.

We rented this property for a family of 10 (parents, 3 siblings w their significant others and 2 kids). We loved it! It was a gorgeous house w modern design and spacious so we weren't on top of each other. The beach was beautiful. Having 2 washing machines was great. My only critique (and this is very minor, but this can't be all great, right?) is skillets in the kitchen were to a point we bought our own. Overall, we couldn't have asked for better, and will be going back, and have recomended it to several friends and family.

We were very satisfied with the house and property. The concrete driveway was a big plus, very little sand to clean from the cars when we got home. It is a beautiful home with a great balcony set up.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Mar Tortuga. This home is beautifully decorated, and is equipped with everything that we needed. We especially enjoy having a bathroom in every bedroom! And walking out the back door onto the beach is so convenient! We'll be back next summer!

This house was very spacious and excellent accomedations. Great location right on the beach. Mostly beach houses in the area away from big condos so the beach was not crowded at all. Only downfall was air conditioner went out our last night at the house and there was no response from management that night and the house was very uncomfortable the last night. Also the house could have had a few more towels with it.

If you've read many of our reviews, you know this one is unusual. While here, you have a cell phone number to reach us day or night. Usually a ringing phone will wake us but if you haven't heard back within 15 minutes, please call us again. We usually are able to get an AC repair person out, even at midnight, but they cannot always fix it before the next day depending on the parts needed. It helps if you'll call us about problems when you first notice them. The earlier we can call a repair person, the faster they can begin work on your issue.

This house is wonderful. Our entire family spent the week. Three adult children and five
grandchildren. Plenty of room. Beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean!! Ice maker was not working when we arrived on Sunday. I called the manager. He returned my call while
I was leaving a message. Sent someone to look
at it on Monday. Installed a new one on Thursday. (Its not like we were without ice. The fridge has an ice maker as well.) They were very professional and very eager to please. This will be our new vacation spot. In fact, we are already working on a date for
next summer! I truly don't know of anything that could have made it better.

I have been visitimg the Guld Shore area for over 15 years and recently found this home. It was amazing. Well maintained, great accomodations and everything in great condition. Often one choses a home via the internet based on photos and on arrival you find it to be far less than depicted. This is certainly not the case with this home. The well stocked kitchen, overall suberb condition of the home made this visit one of our best trips to Gulf Shores. Plenty of space and accomodations made this home a perfect place for 8 adults. Yes, we have already reserved the home for 2015

We enjoyed our Christmas 2013 so much at Mar Tortuga that we extended our Christmas 2014 stay through New Years. This home has to be one of the best managed and cleanest properties available at Gulf Shores. We like to cook fresh seafood and the kitchen is well supplied with all we need to turn out some delicious dinners! Looking forward to another Christmas at this very comfortable beach home.

It was great, Gulf Shores Vacation Rentals took very good care of us. any minor problems we may have had during our month's stay was taken care of immediately. Very centrally located, this was our 2nd stay at Mar Tortuga and would highly recommend it. Our favorite restaurants were Cosmos and Tacky Jacks. We found a great church in First Baptist there in Gulf Shores, they really welcomed their "Winter Visitors". That entire town was so friendly and made us so welcome. Alabama in general, and Gulf Shores in particular, would be a great place to live.

1st time visitors to Gulf Shores. MarTortuga was beautiful, comfortable and excellently located. Waking up and looking at the ocean and gorgeous beach was a dream realized. Great restaurants (especially Cobalts) Visit Fairhope. It's quaint and charming. Our friends who visited hope we do it again...We would love to come back.

We had the absolute best time at the mar tortuga!!!! This house was perfect for our large family! And WOW!!!! What a view!!! Everyone around us were so nice and friendly! The house was very clean and comfortable. Just like a home away from home! The best part was being able to just walk out the door and be onto the beach! We would stay in this house 1000 again!! Exceeded our expectations. Beautiful home. Lots of room for families. Great location. Great space. Owners suite is unbelievable and the other master is huge. The queen rooms have tons of space as well. Furnished impeccably. Maintenance and management were unbelievably responsive. One of the queen beds was worn out. Called and they delivered a new mattress and box spring the next day!! Would return in a heartbeat or rent any other property managed by GSVR.

Surpasses photos! This is our third stay and every year, we notice updates and improvements. This year, a new deck, some new living room furniture and flooring had been added. We have been renting beach houses on west beach and this is the best! Reluctant to post because readers might take my week. When we of get home, I book for following year.

The Mar Tortuga was more than me and my family were expecting!4spacious rooms, each w/ their own bathrooms, sofa sleeper, great kitchen w/ awesome conveniences (coffee maker/crockpot/icemaker), 2laundry rooms, 2 porches to watch sunrise/set! Best location - few yards from the beach, no crossing streets which was a must for our kiddos. It was also great to be able to bring the family dachshund along! We are already planning when we are coming back!!

This was our 3rd family Christmas/New Year vacation at Mar Tortuga. That says it all! We just couldn't think of staying any where else We start talking about our next Mar Tortuga Christmas when we return home after the holidays!.

The management made us feel doubly welcomed when we walked in to see a small lighted Christmas tree, the dining table centerpiece bowl filled with an array of Christmas balls, and a welcome gift of candy and a cleverly designed wooden wall hanging with a photo of the house exterior and its large holiday wreath. These special personal touches indicate how much the management appreciates our yearly return.

A 5 star rating all the way. We would recommend to a friend but not for Christmas - that is OUR ten days!

The best vacation home we have ever rented. It was our 15th year coming to this area. We will be renting this home again. It is well stocked and be far, the cleanest home. Watch dauphins in the mornings. Get seafood just up the road at Waves and have awesome cookouts! Love this home! Management company sent emails checking to make sure everything was ok. Best customer service by far!!!

We had a fabulous time! The property was even better than the pictures. I received email updates daily from customer service insuring that everyone was going well and if I needed anything just let them know. The location was fantastic! The beautiful beach is just off the back porch and never crowded. (just guest from adjacent homes) I plan on going back next summer and would certainly recommend this property. I guarantee you will be satisfied. We played golf three times and if you do golf you will have no problem finding a nice course. We ate lunch out a couple of times and for dinner we visited the fish market and cooked in. This worked out well because the restaurants in the evening were extremely busy with waiting lines of 1 to 2 hours.

We love this house! It is the perfect size for our growing family. It is always very clean and the amenities are great. I only have two minor suggestions for change: 1) the kitchen utensils (pots and pans) could use some upgrading 2) It would be great if more towels were provided. We had to wash towels at least two loads of towels daily.
These two things aren't things we can't work around. Again, we love this house and will definitely be back!!!

Fantastic. The house was everything we had hoped for. Our family had stayed at Mar Tortuga a couple of years ago and the repeat visit was even better. Your staff was very responsive and friendly with the one simple issue we had with the crock pots. The beach was very private and the overall weather was perfect. Very nice property-I would pick this house again.

The only suggestions for your owner are as follows:
The sliding doors were very difficult to open for the kids and us old folks-some kind of handles would be great.
The dishwasher was tough to open.
Carpet in two upstairs bedrooms at the thresholds was worn and tack strips were poking us.
When you access the WIFI, and enter the password, we got an "invalid password message". We then entered the password in the security message and everything worked. The password you gave us was the security key, not the password.
Overall, a great experience. Thank you for a wonderful week! Absolutely would recommend this house to others.....

Great location for us....close enough to the action, yet private and uncrowded beach. Lots of closet and bathroom space, well equipped kitchen. Just be aware that only one bedroom has gulf view. Rental company checked on us to make sure all was ok. Great experience!

'Loved the house, the location (right on the beach) was perfect, the size for 6 people expansive. It was really nice that everyone had their own bathroom and the lower floor plan totally open .. great for socializing. The property was in great condition, furniture comfortable (with the exception, I think it's time to change a couple of mattresses). A bit of a drive (15 min) to bars and restaurants but upside, quiet and uncrowded beach. I would definitely recommend.

Such a beautiful spot, right on the beach. Family friendly neighbors and beach. Maintenance responded quickly with problems. We would love to come back again to "our" home on th the Gulf Shores. We found Publix grocery to exceed our expectations and even made some friends. The cold/windy day we went to the Naval Museum and must see! What a lovely home.

MarTortuga is for you if you like nicer things. The home is located away from public beach area which makes the beach front feel private. Clean white sand beach ,quiet and relaxing. The home is large and very inviting. Beautifully decorated and very clean. We had three families for this vacation and we all were very comfortable with plenty of room. We enjoyed the large deck and wonderful views of the ocean.

The property I rented was top notch. It was like walking into my home. Everything I could have wanted or needed was there.The large luxurious, bed rooms were an added plus and the view of the beach front was awesome.
