Gulf Shores' family-friendly environment is one of our favorite things about it. It is the thing that lead us to move here and start Gulf Shores Vacation Rentals. Here are some things to do if you decide to come in from the beach and pool!
There are several restaurants that are also great places to hang out and enjoy sand play and music. Lulu's has good food, live music each evening, a huge sand play area for kids and more. Lulu is Lucy Buffett, sister of singer Jimmy Buffett and she knows how to offer a fun time. It is located on the north side of the Intercoastal Waterway so you can watch the boats come and go. Arrive early in the summer--lots of people love Lulu's. Other times of year there are all kinds of nice free festivities there including evening bonfires and s'mores, outdoor movies on a huge screen, and fun Christmas, New Year's and Mardi Gras celebrations. You'll also find The Hangout right at the main beach area. It is a large open air restaurant with a giant enclosed outdoor area great for relaxing while you watch the kids play on the sand mountain or over near the outdoor stage. It is a festive environment where they will have you up on your feet dancing if you aren't careful.
You'll find several spots that offer go-carts, arcades, bumper boats including Adventure Island and The Track. You'll also find a full waterpark at Waterville USA. We have both indoor (at The Wharf) and outdoor miniature golf and the Southeast's largest ferris wheel also at The Wharf.
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, right in the heart of Gulf Shores, is renowned for its white tigers and for being the subject of the Animal Planet television series The Little Zoo That Could.
And don't forget The Exploreum Science Center interactive museum & IMAX theatre in Mobile, and a trip to see the gators at Alligator Alley.
Most of our places are lcoated in the West Beach area of Gulf Shores. It is a quiet area of beach but very close to restaurants, shops and attractions. We welcome you to come stay with us at Gulf Shores Vacation Rentals!
